The lady on the left is Ellen Higham, wife of Chris Higham who kept the Cases Arms on Holt st./Manchester Rd. corner Ince. Ellen's maiden name was Stephens and her parents George and Mary kept the Rosebridge Inn. As Chris Higham doesn't seem to appear the photo must date to after his death in Summer 1906

Love the photo, the ladies hats are stunning, was the Cases Arms the pub they used to call the pinky?

If you look in St Mary's Registers you'll find Ellen's widowed son remarrying, whilst living on Warrington Road, Spring View.

It was The Oddfellows Arms that was called "The Pingy".
