Wedding of William Wright [Hindley] and Catherine Halligan [Beech Hill]. Standing behind bride and groom is Jack Halligan, my uncle. On bride's left is my grandad, Tommy Halligan, my grandma Bessy in front of him. On groom's right is my grandad Arthur Wright, my grandma Florrie in front of him.

I remember Tommy & Bessie well, they served as stewards in SLG Labour club. My Bro' was in Jacks class at Sacred Heart, & I was 5 years behind in Bettys' class.
Salt o'the earth Jack was..RIP

Hi Art. I know my grandma and grandad were steward and stewardess at Beech Hill Labour Club, and Jack was president there for a time. Not sure about SLG though.

Alan. Another great photo. Looking at it, you are a younger version of your grandad Tommy! You certainly have a look of him in my opinion.

They definitely did a spell in SLG LC, after they left Beech Hill LC. Up to then, I only knew Betty & Jack thro' school..Up to his death, Jack was a regular at the Keepers..

Was Liz your cousin Alan?...she used to live next door to us in Beech Hill.

Thanks, Art. I knew they worked at the Subscription Club for a while after they left Beech Hill LC, but I didn't know about SLG. Maureen, Liz was indeed my cousin.

First of all Alan, can I say that I love his photo.

Nan and grandad did do a spell in SLG Labour Club. We have a photo of my mum holding Anita in there. I only know because I asked my mum where it was taken.
