Edna and Fred Foster. I found a load of coloured slides that were part of our wedding package. Cholertons did the photos and all told the album plus slides was 14 guineas (£14.70) At the time I was a shotfirer at Stones colliery and my wage was £14/week I transferred these slides to the hard drive, using a converter.

Beautiful photo, beautiful bride... oh go on then... the groom was alright too.. :-)
I'm not sure , but I think my Dad was at Stones at that time too.....Jimmy Lomax.....

hi fred , my dad & his brothers worked at stones. he was tommy scully & they lived in the steam engine.

Whups, I knew them all. John worked on the pit brow with me before I went underground, Frank was on the haulage. His wife was in Billinge maternity when our son David was born. I think that she also had a son David as well. Maggie worked on the screens at Stones and she married a lad from Newtown, whose name was Jimmy. If you look in "stuff" you will find my write up on Stones colliery. You will probably find some others that you know there.

spot on fred. my uncle was jimmy cullen & they lived in worsley hall. dont know if you know or not my auntie maggie was run down & killed by a doctor from wigan infarmary while she was running an errand for a neighbour.he went the wrong way down a one way st . a bit ironic .
