I did indeed, Catherine. I was stationed at Pemberton Police Office, and got to know him well when he came to perform his duties as a Special. A true gentleman.

Afraid I've no photos Catherine. I used to bump into Tommy a lot, and was sad to hear he was no longer with us.
Hi Mick...I contacted a sergeant at Wigan police and told them our Tommy had died. They did us a great honour in sending an officer to the church in order to show their respects and offer their condolences.
He was very well liked, Bill.
I can still see our Tommy and Jack Halliwell my stepdad, stood together proudly wearing their police uniforms.
That is...when they weren't off fishing somewhere!
