Just looked him up on Wikipedia it's an interesting read. He came from Salford and a couple of his recordings were Old Shep and The Old Bazaar in Cairo. He was also a good friend of Brian Matthew (Sounds of the Sixties) and died in October last year at his home on the Isle of Man.
