This picture was taken on Easter Sunday in 1919 in the back yard of 10 Gaskell Street,Hindley.The family in the picture lived next door at number 8.Along the back row.left to right is...Emily Halton (who married a William Wike),Ethel Cain,Sarah Anne and Annie Halton (who married a Willaim Atherton).Woman seated on the left is my grandmother Eliza Jackson (nee Latchford) with my baby dad,Joseph Jackson sat on her knee, Elizabeth Ellen Latchford my great grandmother and then Elizabeth Anne Halton ( who married a Thomas Evans)with baby Thomas Evans on her knee.The kids at the front left to right are...my uncle Sam Jackson,my uncle Tom Jackson who died in Burma and my auntie Clara who loaned me this picture and told me who the people in the picture were,but for her good memory the names on this picture would have been lost.

Thank god for auntie Clara. I have so many photo's like this with not much chance of putting names to faces.

The lady on this picture Emily Halton is my grandmother and yes she did marry a William Wyke,Clara was a very good friend of my grandmothers,we used to call her auntie Clara,not sure if we were related or not.

my late husband's grandparents use to live at 12 gaskell st. they were thomas and elizabeth ann dunn. i have a copy of the census with them on at no 12 gaskell st hindley
