Left to right, myself, Malcolm Unsworth and Paul Livesey. Waiting impatiently for the incessant whirring of the self timing shutter switch to work on my camera. It was impossible to keep up a constant smile as the mechanism was faulty and there was no way to anticipate when it would work.
Photo taken in one of the upstairs corridors at the Wigan Tech, somewhere near the Art School studios (rooms).
I came from Wigan (Beech Hill), Malcolm lived in Gathurst Lane, Orrell and Paul, if my memory serves me right, came from the Chorley area.
Malcolm and I both went into teaching, he went to Leicestershire (Narborough area), I went to the Fylde before settling in the West Midlands (near Wolverhampton) but I have no knowledge of where Paul ended up.

I remember going to night school for Art in one of those rooms on the left. It would have been the year after that photo. Good photo.

Great pic from a time and era long gone. Do they still do Art anymore in these media-crazed pandemic days? The old Tech had an atmosphere of its own and bravo to these cultured young men who had the nous and guts to do something they actually loved and were talented at. Love that sheepskin coat too...Right on!

I attended Wigan Art School, Commercial Design/ Graphic Drawing from around 1967, great times., especially remember Mr Nicholson one of the tutors who drove an old Renault.
