Sorry, should have read Wonderland unless the young lad is a Superhero.
Its good to see the dog owners have the dogs on tight leads
Great to see my father again, in the centre, with his Westie. After 30 years working down the pit he liked nothing better than a bit of fresh air and a walk in the Plants. Thanks for a great photo Frank.
Frank, I have really enjoyed this set of photos, especially seeing the kids enjoying the snow.
I'm struck by the difference in attitude from the grown-ups in the earlier photos. they don't seem to be concerned with the fact that you are taking photos of their kids, unlike today when anyone who points a camera anywhere near a child comes under immediate suspicion.
I can understand why parents are so wary these days but I still find it a bit sad.
Frank, these are a great set of photos from bygone days.We were once captured in a photo taken by DTease in Haigh Hall in the early 90s. Its brilliant, When I saw this one, I wondered did anyone recognise themselves, and yes someone has found their father, which is good!!
Great to see one of Wigan's hidden gems serving its purpose. Especially for the man who served 30 years in the mines, like thousands of other miners, in years past, who helped create it in the first place.
From seeing the brick wall in the background and the gradient of the path, these folks are walking down the hill from the Plantation Gates on Wigan Lane. The camera person is stood just before the bridge over the River Douglas.
Its surreal how much a bit of snow transforms the landscape in this area. The Plantations have been a nice bolthole to escape to in the last few months with the various Covid lockdown restrictions.
