St. Catharine's Church- Before restoration of the spire.

I thought it looked nice with the slight dip in the spire. It gave it character like the one in Chesterfield.

It may have looked nice,and even had character. But it was dangerous.Hence the restoration...

I agree, CJAlan. I liked the crooked spire but didn't like to say so in case I incurred the wrath of other Wiganers! Maybe in time it would have caused problems to the structure but I liked it!

I love the dramatic sky over the church. I am more familiar with the houses surrounding the church though. Looks more desolate without them.

The Peak District hills in Derbyshire can be seen from the vicinity of this church. Also St Matthew's church, Highfield, St James, Poolstock, and almost the spire of St Wilfrid, Standish.
