Taken in the 1930s, and used as an illustration in the programme for the rally.
As the boat in the background, the MERSEY, was built at Northwich in 1932, it's possible the pic dates from the 1930s, Terry. Do you have chapter and verse for your date? The Mersey is still afloat - now restored - at Lathom. I'll put a pic up.

Rev. Long. A copy of this pic was sent to me by a family history researcher who thought one of the men might be an ancestor we have in common.
They said it had been taken in the 1930s and they are usually reliable with their info.

nobody said the photo a=was from 1983 ! my ub)nderstanding is that it is taken the programme of a Pier Rally which took lace in 1983 !
