I wonder if there are many shady lanes to stroll along in the heat of the day in the countryside the today, there must be, there has to be. This is England after all !

A photo of a time before the developing madness set in, won't get any privacy up there now I've just had a look on Google maps, I remember in the 1980s going to Stanley Nook Farm and the sheer expanse of fields and the views of Rivington from there, all gone now with houses being built - progress I don't think so, though it makes me wonder who buys these houses that are being built around Wigan as they all keep being snapped up, some even before the foundations are laid.
