Northern did not operate Wigan Wallgate until 2004

The days when you could walk freely onto a station platform without being met by the Gestapo in viz jackets and making you walk through a ticket barrier even if you just want to watch trains or see your loved one off on a train. All that freedom we once enjoyed and took as normal is being stripped away by our fascist govt, CCTV cameras litteraly everywhere you go. What places like these are gonna be like in another 10-15 years I can't imagine, but it'll be akin to going through an airport checkpoint. Security everywhere, TSA bodyscanners, bag checking etc.

AL, you have to do these days, I'm not concerned about cameras about, they DO give police the evidence they need and is deterrent not only railway station but all over town.
