Aspull Fingerpost many years ago, the end of Haigh Road coming past the old Labour Club in the background can be seen, no buildings can be seen to the right, if you look closely some chaps are sat on the bench behind the flagpole, to the right is the lamp that was the the ''Fingerpost''. The bus stop has been replaced by a modern structure.

Looks like some of the spoil from Moor Pit is still there - looks to be '40's??

This photo could have been taken in the 1950s. The spoil heaps from the Pit were criss crossed with tracks, made by us kids on our bikes. Today's kids with their Mountain Bikes would have had a great time. The whole area was a great big Adventure Playground to us.

I don't think the Labour Club is on this photo, it would have been in Harold St.

Are the spoil heaps where Aspull clinic is now?
Also what is the structure to the left of the photo please anyone?

The structure to the left was an open area for people waiting for a bus, it had ladies and gents toilets, that smelled horrible.

The structure to the left of the picture was a bus shelter I was standing there when I heard of the Munich Air crash in 1958
