L/R Vincent Kane, Bert Kane, Alice Kane, Emily Dixon, Ronnie Sutch? Eric Southern?.
They are standing infront of what used to be the Starr Inn on the corner of Scot Lane and Heaton Street. By the time that this photo was taken the Pub had been converted into two houses, the Kane's lived on the right hand side and the Sutch's lived on the left.
As anyone got a photo of the old Starr Inn?.
In 'Puppets Through Lancashire', the itinerant puppeteer Walter Wilkinson made much of the doorstep squatters of Aspull in his description of his arrival at Wigan in 1935.
Ronnie Sutch looks a bit of a tough nut...Home on leave, it looks like. Thank God they did away with national service...Might have been a pleasant chap though. Who knows...
Ronnie Sutch was a great guy realy nice person he wasnt a toughnut but he could handle his self if he had to he was a super dad n husband wish he was here now he is sadly missed n this picture is great how do i get a copy of it
If you right click on the photo you have the options to copy and save. If you have a printer you can of course print out or save toa flash pen and take it to a photo shop if there are any still left. You also could burn it to a CD.
