This photo was taken when the Blue Bell had a bowling green accross from the pub on Rectory Road. We think the man in the centre of the photo could be the landlord.

Where was the bowling green ? was it where the car park is now ? and when was it removed ? A fascinating picture , thanks for sharing it Janice.

i think the landlord was my great grandad noah ashton he ran the pub with his wfe alice ashton
