Winnards becomes Gidlow Bakery

Taken on Gidlow Lane early 1980s.Winnards had been closed for some time and the shop was taken on by Ted who opened Gidlow Bakery.I think it may be Ted himself doing the livery but not sure.

I remember Ted well Mark from my Hen ole days. He baked a great steak pie.

Ted retired to his beloved Blackpool. One of the nicest and funniest men I know.

He was a good guy Ted.On a Saturday when he closed he used to bring all the stuff he'd not sold to our house.

Winnards had a second shop at the top of Gidlow land and made some good pies too.

Does anyone remember CALLANDS newsagents on Gidlow lane .I was friendly with daughter BRENDA who died suddenly at the age of 15 ...in the late 40`s ?They hads another daughter who was only about 3 at the time.....Virginia ??

Ted lives in Blackpool.My sister and brother-in-law,Kath and John Ashcroft still keep in touch him and go out to visit Ted.What a character he was.Great bloke and good family freind.
