Thats the bakers shop, I had the wrong spelling. I would walk up the side of the shop, turn left & then take a right into an passageway into Dicconson St...or at the start of tge passage turn left into the ginnel & up to the back gate of 38 ? Dicconson St. Thanks for showing that Frank.

Those warehouses to the rear, some were used by the wholesale fruiterers, Conroy’s etc.

The door with 'No Parking' sign was the entrance to Conroy's warehouse, which always appeared to be opened in the 50's and 60's.

Does anyone remember the blacksmith which used to be behind Crawford's wool shop also the ice cream factory at the bottom to the left which used to belong to Green and Cook who owned the Savoy and Don cafe in Hope Street and the Gate snack bar in Standishgate wonder if anyone as a photo of the blacksmith

The Blacksmith's name was Nolan Crawshaw.

The Gate Cafe/Snack Bar was run by the Green Sisters in the 50's & 60's.
