Hi Fred, yes i have thousands of shots taken at the pit and i am currently wading through them all to sort them into sections. All the slides and colour negs will have to be scanned in and the mono pics scanned so it may take some time, but i promise that most of my material will some time make it on to the website. This particular shot for those who are interested was taken on Kodak Ektachrome 400HC slide
with FLW filter to convert the flourescent light into daylight,8 Seconds at f8.0.Camera Nikon FM.

Just been told by someone to look at these photos of Parkside colliery taken underground by Graham Carr and i must say i am stunned looking at these images. It is incredible that photos of this quality could be achieved given the conditions and the equipment this photographer had to work with.Using a mechanical camera,no light meter and having to convert daylight balanced film to a different
kelvin temperature so as to not get a colour cast is truly incredible under such low light conditions. If that wasn't enough this particular image was taken on slide film which gives you very little latitude for error.Iv'e studied these photos in depth and it feels you could almost walk into the picture and be part of the action.Truly incredible!
I would be interested to hear from Graham the techniques he used to obtain these amazing pictures from a era now lost forever.
