This is the top end of Market Street Lowes in front of Lowe's Department store, Barclays Bank etc are there now.

The bus is a Leyland Panther which had a very flexible chassis. Only 12 were bought and they all cracked over the centre exit and returned to Northern Counties for repair. At the time I was in charge of the bus depot. In 1974 I didn't want to work for GM Buses and moved to be manager of the smaller municipal bus undertaking in Burton on Trent. Nice pic Ron.
