As a teenager my friend and i used to go into Lowe's cafe on a Saturday afternoon and get a knickerbocker glory each,occasionally we had chips, we didn't have much money as we had both only just started working but it was a great treat.

I worked at Lowe's from 1960-1963,at that time owned by the Lowe family .
After it was takenover by Greenwood's,gents outfitters in 1963 it lost its identity and ethos ,it changed behond belief.after a lingering death,it closed in 1985,I think that was the date .
I wish to learn more about James Lowe family around 1910-16 I believe they lived in Gidlow house on Gidlow Lane
I also believe he owned Lowes 'Draper' shop in Wigan.
Does any one have any pictures of Gidlow House? or Mr Lowe and his wife please?
