Nice photograph,I rode on this engine and its sister,Spitfire many times down at Bickershaw colliery during their working life there.They were both the same colour and in their early years at the colliery they seemed to be well cared for and maintained however in later years they bacame run down and unkempt just the same as the locomotives on BR.
Incidentally I think you,ll find that the locos name is in fact Hurricane not Huccaine as stated.Thanks for rekindling the memories anyway, how I wish that it were still possible to visit the sidings at the colliery and see these engines still hard at work.
Would you be the Mike Quinn who used to have the bookshop in Greenough st. before the remodelling of the roads around there, and also worked out of G & I Models in Library st. after that?

I think Martin Quinn could be my uncle because i rememeber riding one of the old locos with him back in the early 70s.
