You have got my flabber completly gasted Frank, I dont remember you at the Branch, I Know we went through school together but for the life of me I dont remember you on the railway although I do certainly remember old Benny Bain bridge, and Len Riley, do you remember the MIC classes at the old barracks run by Eric Lancaster, any way nice to see your face on there, but you didn't do such a good job of cleaning that black 5 you missed a bit
Is this the Frank Parker that finished up a fireman of the different kind ?
Yes I did leave to become the other type of fireman, and I also remember the classes with Eric Lancaster.Jack Armstrong and Dick Wood. But I can"t figure out who Aitch and John are.
we were in the same class at Ince central, you used to live in Heber street, I was the clever one who went to Grammar school and hated it, my wife was very involved with little Rose Bridge church, does that jog your memory Frank, besides I see you now and then in the Library.
I lived across the road from you in Ince Green Lane and we both worked for the same organisation for many yaers with my brother Arthur
Now I know aitch. I was at the Branch from 1954 to 1963. Can't believe you don't remember. I am almost sure that you were the first person I told that I was thinking of joining the Fire Brigade,it was about 4a.m. one day as you and your Driver hitched a lift on our footplate to N.W. Station. When my shift finished I went to the Fire Station and got an application form.
I also remember you John, who along with your brother Arthur used to repair the Fire Engines we broke.
Nice to hear from you both.I am new to this computer lark but starting to learn more as I go along.
join the main forum at wiganworld, you will be surprised who you meet on there, and its easier talking than doing this.
