Eddie Cropper, Stan Jones, Geoff Melling, Dave Baybutt, Terry Moran, John Simm (he was the foreman seated at the front) he pinched my T shirt that night and I want it back !!!
The coach was square so we christened it the "Shoe Box"
i worked with Stan Jones,good cake maker, or so he clammed, Eddie Cropper became press room manager,John Simm was great.Nice specs John......
i remember workin there 1964 to1973 mr valentine and mrs alleyne terry davies ian pedrick all the staff i worked in the new jacket room its been pulled down now good old days anybody remember it i worked on sleeves
Hi Chris I worked there from 1970-73 in the press room I used to press your sleeves It was non stop to get your numbers in to earn any bonus even then with a GOOD wage in 1973 you only earn abour 22 quid a week
yeah i worked on sleeves, from 1964 to 1972,does anybody remember the gas explosion ,one very hot summers day. we were all hanging out of the windows watching it. we all got sent home that day

when i look back it was the best of my working life so many great people to work along side a real family feel ..no way is it like that now in any other worplace . strange i dont seem to see any old faces around town i think we all have a fond memory of the old place and the great folk who made it what it was have a nice life cheers eddie cropper

Stan, remember I came to your house to drill the wall in your kitchen so you could put up some cupboards in Thorburn Ave?
I'm Dave Baybutt I worked in the pressing room in the 70s.I remember all the guys and girls I worked with back then, thanks to Gerry for these pictures, made me cry to recall those days again. seems like it only yesterday now I'm sure alot of the older ladies who worked there are gone now Doris Stanton, Winnie Willis, Dorothy Farrell. Wish I had a time machine to see us all again once more as were then GREAT MATES, GREAT DAYS GOD BLESS ALL HERE AND GONE...

Hi to all you lovely people. I too sigh a little with much fondness when i look at theses photos. Very happy days but then do we ever remember just how hard it was at Coops? remember during the summer in the hot weather?
I remember david baybutt at the bakery, lunchtime, peeling his pickled onion to put on his barmcake. remember david, and that christmas when i got blind drunk at the grand hotel. Brian Cunliffe too me home in geoff glamfields car, left me outside the house and did a runner cause he knew what dorothy was like. Thanks for drilling the hole. 1st time i remembered it gerry
John simm has paid in full now for the T Shirt ..today we shook hands and shared a hug and filled a missing forty year gap..now we need a reunion of all these time travellers

To all those who new him, Eddie passed away a few weeks ago after a short illness. Going to miss him, he was my best buddie
