This was an annual event run by CISWO (coal industry social welfare organisation) and took place in the old Wigan Emp (later known as the Casino) On the pic, among others are Edna Twigg, Fred Foster, Alan Parr, Marie Heyes, John Edwards, Ivy Heyes, Jack Sudworth, Roy Lythgoe.

CISWO (Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation) is still operating though now most of their work is with ex miners and widows and concentrates on social work rather than recreation .
