Some of the engines inside the garage.Late 40's early 50's approx.
JP 8650 Commer QX/Whitson WrT was delivered in 1950 and names "Lewis" First post-war fire appliance ordered by WCBFB.

My brother sent me these so I am a bit late entering the discussion.
The Merryweather turntable ladder at the end was an 85 footer.
It had an open cab. I rode it to a fire in Leigh on a freezing cold night with Ben Spooner to a mill fire. It was'nt too bad going but as we were soaking wet on the way back we got covered in frosty ice. It was b****y freezing.
