Old L&Y loco shed at Prescott Street used as the electrification depot for the electrification of the West Coast main line in the 1970s.

This photo appears to be at the very beginning, 1971, of pirelli's use of the Prescott Street site. The concrete mixers look brand new. I was the Chief O.H.L.construction Inspector throughout the project abd supervised the first foundations being installed in Dallam Cutting north of Warrington. Duncan Lavadinovic was the Pirelli engineer that day.

My dad worked at Prescot st sheds as a boilermaker.He is 86 now and still going strong.Does anyone out there remember him?

My dad also worked with Fred Brown at the loco shed, his name was George Lemin. Can anyone tell me where the water supply for the locos was situated, because the sheds didn't have any tanks.
