Dear Jean
My great grandads brother was called Nicols and I believe he was a founder of the company. I believe it is where the cols comes from in Beccols.

My father, Bert Beckett, was the 'Bec' of Beccols. George Nichols was the 'cols'. My uncle, Joe Foy is third from the right, back row on the photograph.
