No Stey I left the railway in 1999 to join the ambulance service I got so pig sick of driving units I decided to look for something else.I had long curly blond hair and a tash sometimes,I moved to LLjct from crewe after mp12 for my driving job.
I was Secondman to Tommy on many occasions. I net met anyone who knew the railway like he did. On a job near Helsby one day he suddenly stopped the train in the middle of nowhere, produced two plastic bags, and told me to go and pick apples and pears from two trees he pointed to! He told me they would pick me up in about 20 minutes. After about 30 minutes there was no sign of the train so I walked down the track (with two full carrier bags) only to find the train had derailed in a siding at Helsby Station!!! Happy days.
