Wigan Album

This is before the new shed was built. These chassis where mostly driven about by a man called Freddy Fogg. The first job for the fitters was to strip of the yellow temporary frame and other bits from the chassis when they came inside. For a while, Counties rented a yard in New springs and used it to store chassis in. A regular site was Fred driving the bottom deck down to Wigan lane for the top deck fitting or driving bare chassis about. Fred (Never Freddy) Always had about 5 coats on and goggles, small guy with a bit of a mustacho and some curly hair. He was always full of oil and mud even on Monday mornings at 08.00 am.

I recall freddy fogg and scotch jimmy driving about my dad also drove pick up truck and the van. Good times
