This was the last working mill in Wigan Photo taken the year it closed. I've walked along the front of that building a few times in my youth. Just think of the expensive apartments that could have been built in that building?

Was Carrington and Dewhurst Douglas Mill Standish Wigan not the last working mill.

I think you might be right john, Dorma sheets weaving mill on swan meadow rd ( old Eckersleys) closed in 1988 and I think Douglas mill was still going then, but I stand to be corrected.

May Mill, Pemberton a few years before demolition and the vehicles are a Chrysler Alpine, rear engined Simca 1000, Commer camper van, and Mini van.
