Ive had many a TEG pickle on my pies
An higgledy picklety line-up. And a grand picture.
Used to work with Ted Gallagher at McAlpines. Great guy.
Situated at the bottom of Belle Green Lane between the cinema(?), and the police station, if I remember rightly.
Bottom of arnside Avenue and Earl street
The pickle works was at the end of Earl Street, off Belle Green Lane, I can remember the strong smell of vinegar as a child.

Well would you look at those Girls, I never thought making pickles was that dangerous.
I hope their heads got better.
Aye, John G, and they were only sticking labels on!
John Walsh's Mate: Have you seen the size of the jars, just imagine the water they had to drink to stick those labels on.
And if one fell on the foot, your talking broken toes at least.
Ted Gallagher born about 1942 was in my class at school in Leigh 1954 to 1957. He was a big boy who liked the girls. I only saw him once after leaving school. He was driving a red Austin Healey sports car in Ince. A friend told me he died young. RIP Ted.
