My other claim to fame apart from the Bickershaw Colliery pic's is I used to work for W.M.C. chasing kids off the schools. It was a goverment employment scheme.I'am the lad on the right,it would be great if anyone can identify where the picture was taken.

Terry that could be the railway bridge in Landgate lane Bryn and the three sisters slag heaps in the background.

It is only a wild guess Terry, but judging from the type of plate girder bridge that the van is stood on & the colliery waste tip behind it,i`m thinking that it could have been taken somewhere in the Atherton area & on one of the railway bridges that go over the Atherton line?,& in particular somewhere near the Cutacre Tip?.
Like i say it is only a wild guess, but that is where it looks like to me.
I could be wrong though, anyone with anymore suggestions?

Balldilocks, all railway bridges look the same dont they? But your right, it also looks like Crow Nest bridge only a different colour.
