Do you think it`s true that stripes can make you look slimmer ?

Linda:-
Back Row (L to R) Dave Forrester, Chris White, Phil Thompson, Ken Smith, John Collier, George Fairhurst.
Front Row (L to R) Harry Ridyard, Carl Pilling, Jim Latham, Jim Bolton, Keith Wilkes.
Sadly, Carl Pilling died a few years ago.

Is that Carl Pilling bottom row 2nd left?

Don't know venue, but the pic must have been taken some time between January 1978 and September 1980, given the officers appearing on it.
This isn't a pic of the 'official' Wigan Division football team, as only two players from that side appear.
I'm wondering if it is of a couple of police five a side teams, as there were quite a few five a side comps, all around that time.

Well spotted Malcolm.

Jim Latham, what a fine figure of a man, but where is he now, does anyone know?

Comment by: Mick on 16th December 2013 at 13:30

Barrie - Jim retired from the force as a dog handler/trainer a few years ago. I understand he still works in dog training in a civilian capacity.
Last saw him about 12 months ago.

I played for the division football team from 1973 to 1981 when I transferred to West Mercia . The likes of Bert Unsworth, Mike Johnson and the like played when I played, Idon't remember any of the above ever playing for the divisiononal team . Harry Rydyard was never involved, and as I look at their foot ware, it is obvious that this is a tug of war team, especially by their bellies .
