Yes his dad did have a pub in Leigh, but we knew him as Bill. Been trying to contact him. Last time I heard he was living in the Winstanley area.

clifton no I'm not. I don't think my grandfather had any brothers? and as I have two daughters. The Hunt name of my family tree will finish with me.

Ron,those premises in Wallgate just north of Miry Lane ?? I vaguely remember them as a Cinema at one time.

AB you are thinking of the wrong building Although the factory was known as PLESSEY WALLGATE The factory was in Great George Street.

You all look well dressed for nightshift, what was your job? I imagine Wigan must have been great to live and go out in around the 60s 70s, was it?

Sixth from left, is that a young Elton John?

Gee. It looks like it may have been Friday night which was overtime. We only worked 4 nights. On Friday you were allowed to come into work up to 11.00p.m. So I may have been out with my girlfriend of the time<g> We were Test Engineers It wasn't a dirty job. There was only aboy 10 or 12 people who worked on the Night Turn I loved it The only problem was trying to sleep during the night at weekend Before I got married I worked for 18 months on the night turn. I saved a fortune

The name on the back of the chair brings back memories to the girls I worked with on cables you would have been in trouble if Betty didn't find her chair on Monday morning. some of the other girls I worked with was Joyce White, Christine Sherriff who married Brian Howarth Jennifer? not sure if it was Grundy, Doreen Bond

Comment by: RON HUNT on 18th July 2014 at 16:24

It was Jennifer Grundy she was my fiancée.
