Good photo Colin, Wish you+me were taking out on test I'd make it go for you. Do you have a photo of the old flagship
THE BIG A JDM 859K ,can you put it on here if you have, it
would make my day Colin.D.C.
Derrick, 859K if I remember rightly was Paddy Ryan's old beast, a 180 Gardner Atki, mine was ADM133L, the introduction of Seddons was a major leap for Kwiky's, good times eh!. Paddy still lives up Billinge he'll probably have a pic.
Hi Derrick and Walt, JDM859K was a indeed a MK2 Atkinson Borderer, powered by Garderner 180, David Brown gearbox and Kirkstall axle. It was one of the last full bred trucks built in Preston before Atkinson merged with Seddon in 1974 and became Seddon-Atkinson. I am always on the search for old photos of Kwiksave trucks and remember 859K well. Should I ever see a photo of this bygone era, I will certainly upload it on WW.
So come George Ryan [Paddy] long time no see, Wally S . says
you may have a photo of 859k,have a look in your K. S. photo
album George and put it on W W if you have one ,thanks Paddy
hope you have one.D.C.
