The company that provided transport for the workforce, was run by a father & son from Wigan. John Tyrer was the son's name, but can't remember the father's name. John was employed by Lancashire Cotton during the day,and worked in the mill. After the working day, one of the two buses would be stored at Simm's yard at Standish, I had the job of cleaning it at weekends.
