Thanks for your comments Irene. We were certainly the best of friends and although the building was quite old and the office would have looked better with a lick of paint, the atmosphere inside was always cheerful. Very happy days!!
Hi Maureen, I have just been searching on here for a picture of Clifton Mill and this is the only picture I have come across which is associated with the mill. As I opened it up to see the bigger image I was surprised and overjoyed to see that my mum is one of the ladies in the picture, Edna Leonard and also my Auntie Maureen in the centre. I was just wondering if you have any more pictures that include either of them as I would appreciate so much to see them. Thanks so much for uploading this photo as it made my day when I came across it!
Hi Carole I have just come across the message, which you sent after seeing the photo of the office staff at Clifton Mills It brought tears to my eyes when I read that you were Edna's daughter as Edna and I worked together as Wages Clerks and we were very good friends. Your mum was one of the nicest people I have ever known and I was devastated when I heard of her death. I also knew your auntie Maureen well and your mum's sister Agnes and my auntie May were best friends for many years. Small world !!!! I am sorry Carole, but I do not have any other photos in connection with Clifton Mills, but it has made my day seeing your letter and you can be very proud to be Edna's daughter.
Just seen Annette and we were talking about Peter Woodcock today.
Haven't heard of them both for so many years .
