Colliery closed in 1960. In 1908 Bamfurlong Nos 1,2 ,3,4, Manager T.F. Ritson, Undermanger James Tickle, employed 1500 below ground and 270 above and Mains Nos 1 and 2, Manager Thomas Robson, employed 700 below and 60 above.

My great, grandfather, Henry Edwards was killed here.
