I have lost count of the number of times I walked down that covered walkway over to the left.

The building in front is the canteen, with the works bowling green in front of that.

My dad worked here for 30 yrs in the rubber belting dept.,sadly because of the chemicals they used,he eventually got cancer of the bladder, from which he died.I have his 25 years service certificate hanging on my wall.He used to cycle to Turners from Belle Green Lane every day.At that time there were no buses that ran straight through and down Leigh Road.Ironically,I now live in Leigh Road, very near Turners.Dad also worked at Turners in Rochdale before transferring to Hindley Green,as did my mum.

I left school in 1974 and started work as a Junior Clerk in the despatch office at Turner's (TBA Belting Ltd.). I worked with Jimmy Finch, Angela, Valerie, Lynn, Barbara, Jenny, Carole, Jean and Susan. Good times! Does anyone remember any of us?
