I SURE DID. NOW THAT REALLY IS TURNING BACK THE CLOCK. WERE YOU RELATED IN SOME WAY TO MAGGIE AND JOHN PARKINSON THEY WERE GOOD FRIENDS OF MY MUM AND DAD
Joan, you look very much like someone i used to work with at A.T.E works(later to become Plessey's) at Union Bridge, Pemberton in the 60's.Did you have any relatives who worked there? The lady i remember from that time had jet black hair, very attractive, very slim.
Hello Joan they were my auntie and uncle. Maggie was my mums sister.I remember you well, i was always at No 20,dinner time from the Grammar School
JOANS MUM AND DAD WOULD HAVE BEEN SO PROUD OF HER.WHO GAVE JOAN THE CHANCE TO FULFIL HER DREAM. JOANS DANCING SCHOOL WAS IN CHORLEY WERE SHE TRAINED.SHE TRAVELLED THREE TIMES A WEEK FROM BRYN ON THE BUS FOR OVER 20 YEARS THATS DEDICATION FOR YOU.
Joan this picture is simply beautiful! its picturesque n the stanse is gorgeous! well they say u learn from the best :)
Beautiful photograph of the classical Joan Wood. I was a late starter at Joan Wood Dance Academy, my friend at junior school Yvonne Richardson asked me along to watch a tap class which I loved and then was allowed to attend once a week to learn how to dance. Joan gave me through her teaching, the opportunity of a career in the entertainment industry, helped me along with all the school’s Mums and dancers to become a boarder at The Thompson School of Dance in Rotherham. I managed to do well in my four years there and began a career as a dancer in summer seasons, pantos and variety, Cabaret and TV shows with the occasions Iona life musical thrown in. I am forever grateful and thankful for Joan’s vision and belief as I had no idea I had a future in theatre etc.. I have been so lucky. Thank you Joan ????
