Can I congratulate myself on naming all but three on this photo after 55 years, having said that,appologies to anyone that I have misnamed, misspelt or not remembered their names wholly or partly. Can anyone complete?

Hi Brian, i've aged a bit since then!

Roy. A number of these people came into my class the following years and followed me until we left school ie Forms 3A, 4A & 5A. The boy Front Row left is HARDYMAN, yes it's spelt that way as he signed the back of the 5A form photo I have here at home.
By the way do you happen to know why Mike Nickson became "Pug" Nickson? This is what we called him from the 3rd year onwards. That's how his name is spelt he's signed my photo.

Arthur, i seem to remember Nickson being called 'Pug' in the second year, i may be wrong and thanks for correcting my spelling.

"PUG" NICKSON WAS NAMED BY ONE OF HIS CLASSMATES BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE HAD A FACE LIKE A PUG DOG. I THINK IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN DAVE UNSWORTH

Thanks for that info Frank re "Pug" Nickson I had an idea the nickname would be along those lines although a bit unfair don't you think. I remember him from 3A onwards as he, and many of those shown in the picture, we're classmates of mine until I left in '57. My most vivid recollections of Nickson is that his life was made hell by my "mate" Kenneth Thomas (KT) Monks. Anybody know where KT went after he, and one or two others, wrecked the staff room in '57? Remember we couldn't get into school one morning due a police presence!!! Ironically the Powell in the photo (Kevin) was in the same class as me until '57 which used to cause some confusion amongst the teachers until they decided, collectively so it seemed, to go with Powell A & Powell K. Confusion over. Simples. Just out of interest I've still got the hexagonal table I made in woodwork, which earned me 9/10, taking pride of place at home. I agree wholeheartedly with the comments that the school was great. Some good times & memories

I am on the back row, extreme right. Joined the RN in 1957 until 1971 and then worked in television until retirement. I thought Donald Austin was great. He got me through English.

I recall Austin Coote he lived at the bottom end of John Street where I lived.
