The Infant Head Teacher in 1959 was Miss Eleanor Johnson, and the Junior School Head Teacher was Mr Birch. Our first infant teacher was Mrs Sherrington. The School Secretary was Mrs Melling, who always had a kind word for any child who was upset or distressed. Mr Tasker was the school caretaker. Please let me know if any of the names on the photo are incorrect, and if you can help in filling any gaps. Happy Memories! Michael A. Mason.

Well remembered Michael. I think Alan Pilkington should read Stephen Pilkington - bit of a rum lad I recall. Barely recognised myself on the photo.

Back row 2nd from right is John Gaskell, third row 3rd from right I think is John Green, 2nd from right is Steven Daniels, second row third from left is Kathleen Turner and next to Susan Richardson is Eileen Rathbone, next to her I think is Kathleen Turton ?. Steve Pilkington and Syd Bell emigrated to Australia, Frank Keenan emigrated to New Zealand, all good mates at the time.

Thanks for all comments and corrections.
Michael Fairhurst - Yes, it is Stephen Pilkington on the back row, 4th from the right; he lived in Scot Lane, and was a rum lad!
Sandra Davies nee Turner - I do remember your brother Brian Turner, and once managed to get in a fight with him after school! I also remember the rest of your family coming into our grocers chop at 40 Victoria Street, Newtown.
Ian Roberts - I well remember your mother, Marlene Smith, she was tall and good at running!
Alan Wharton (2) - thanks for your corrections and additions - it's a long time since our days in Newtown and in the Boys Brigade. Kind regards to you,

Not certain Michael but I do believe that the lad on the second row from the back, fourth from the left is me..Bill Gregory.

Yes, this is Lisa Carole Blakemore. She had a younger brother called Jack and at the time I knew her, in London in the late 60s early 70s, her mother, widowed since Lisa was young, owned Bryn Post Office. The last contact I had with her was when she went to Brunel University to study psychology.

Hi Kenneth, On the Isle of Man holiday, I introduced Bill Worsley to Sheila who he later married. It was a great holiday.
