1956 was my last year at Holy Trinity C of E, I don't remember Mr Brown or Mrs Preston, the others, whilst I can't remember anything specific about any of them, I know I liked them all and being at that school.

Janet I think the photo is school year 1956/57, so you probably wont know Mr.Brown. He took the top class for two or three years before moving to Blackpool. If you were Janet Lomax, my other photo. "Top Class" shows your Kenny. How is he and your Roy? When your dad was a conductor on the buses he used to let your Kenny and me ride for free

Dougie. Are you Dougie Yates from Poplar Ave. I lived at 10 Cedar Grove. Your Nora and John Scully moved into Prior's house, number 7. You probably will not remember me but your Ken might.

Comment by: janet on 9th September 2008 at 12:32

Lyndon, yes I am Janet Lomax. Both Kenneth and Roy are doing well thank you.I will tell them you asked about them. My Dad was a character, wasn't he? He passed away 5 years ago Nov, still miss him.

Comment by: Dougie on 9th September 2008 at 21:33

Yes, I remember you both as lads you lived next door to Cunliffes if it's how I think you are

What an amazing picture. These were all my teachers. I left in 1957 to go to Central school as we called it then. Mrs. Jolley was my very first teacher when I started at 4 years old. I havn't seen them for over 50 years but still remember.
Memories are made of this. Thank you.

Comment by: Lyndon on 16th September 2008 at 13:30

Thanks Bert for questioning Mr.Seddon. He could actually be Mr.Berry but I need a positive ID before having the name changed. Which Bert are you? The only ones I remember are Graham Davies's dad, Albert Thompson/Sutton from No.12 and Albert Thompson who lived on the "big island"

Comment by: BERT on 16th September 2008 at 16:19

HI LYNDON I AM OF THE ISLAND.NICE TO HEAR OF YOU

Comment by: janet on 16th September 2008 at 18:04

Lyndon, you and Bert?, may be right about Mr Seddon/Berry. I didn't think Seddon sounded right, but I did remember his face. I have more senior moments than not these days, so I thought it was just me. Hope you can get it sorted out.

Comment by: BERT on 17th September 2008 at 11:40

IT IS MR BERRY HE WENT TO BE HEADMASTER AT A SCHOOL IN CRANK. HE USED TO COME AND TALK TO ME AND MY SISTER KATHLEEN WHEN WE USED TO GO POTATO PICKING FOR A FARMER IN CRANK WITH OTHER DOWNALL GREENERS AS WE WERE GROWING UP

Comment by: Lyndon on 17th September 2008 at 19:24

Thanks Bert for confirming Mr.Berry, I'll get the name changed asap. Long time since we played marbles outside your house with Cliff Ward, Bob Frodsham, Kenny Livesley, Johnny Knowles, etc.
