Pam, are you the Pam in the photo? You look familiar but i think you were probably a few years below me. I left in '70. Did Carol have an older sister Christine (Coulton) and 2 brothers Norman and Steve. Can you remember the names of any of the lads in your year?

Comment by: Pam on 9th August 2008 at 19:58

Yes Steven, your right with the Coultons.
A couple of lads that were in my year were roy Smart. Ian Yates. Brian Winstanley. if you look in Schools, Rose Bridge, there is a photo of the lads in my year though you might have been in my brothers year, Trevor Knight.Do you know him.

Hi Pam, I think i was probably 3yrs ahead of you at school. Did Judith Finch have an older sister? I think Carol Finch was in my year. Don't think i knew your brother, how old is he? Did you know the Howarth twins? Sorry, this is turning into a questionaire. It's just bringing back a lot of memories. I definately remember those curtains lol

Comment by: Pam on 10th August 2008 at 20:20

spot on again Steven with the finches and as for the Howarth twins, I think one was called John, did they live in Kendal rd.they had a younger sister called carol as well.

Comment by: Stephen on 10th August 2008 at 21:43

Ken and John Howarth. Not sure where they lived in Ince but they were moved to Platt Bridge along with a lot of other Incers around '67. I also made the fateful move as our house at the bottom of Belle Green Lane was knocked down. Anyway, i've just put up a photo of our football team. See if you recognise anybody. I'll give you a clue, I'm the good looking one.

Comment by: Stephen on 11th August 2008 at 18:27

Hi Pam, If you recognised Tony, does that mean you lived up Belle Green Lane somewhere?

Comment by: Pam on 12th August 2008 at 17:23

yes Steven thats right.
I also know Stan Haliwell on your picture. He still lives in Ince and goes in the Oak Tree a lot.Did Tom Ball have a brother named Norman.

Comment by: Stephen on 12th August 2008 at 18:33

Hi Pam, Yes, Tom had a younger brother Norman. I think only 1yr younger. I only recently learned that Tom had sadly passed away some time ago. I worked with Stan at John England when we left school and we played together for Double7 youth club. Give him my regards next time you see him and tell him about the photo. Which primary school did you go to Pam?

Comment by: Pam on 13th August 2008 at 07:44

Will do Steven. And I went to Belle Green primary school. Happy days.

Comment by: Stephen on 13th August 2008 at 08:50

Comment by: Pam on 13th August 2008 at 13:58

Hi Jean, Nice to hear from you.
The only ones i still see now and again are Pauline Smith and Linda Fishburn off the hockey photo. havent seen the others for years. Its hard to believe the photos were taken nearly forty years ago,the memories are so clear seems like only yesterday. Wonder if Miss Glover is still around.

Comment by: Stephen on 29th August 2008 at 18:51

Jean, Are you related to the Ainscough's who lived next door to me at 26, Belle Green Lane. Ithink the dads name was Jack and the kids were Ilene and Harold

Comment by: Eileen Ainscough on 30th August 2008 at 13:48

Hiya Steve we were your neighbours at 26 Belle Green Lane.
Ivy Jack Eileen Harold and Jean

Comment by: Stephen on 31st August 2008 at 12:13

Hi Jean, Well would you believe it,finding my next door neighbour from 40+ yrs ago. Sorry i didn't remember you but i kept thinking you looked like Eileen. I could talk for hours about those times but it would be very boring for others reading these posts so i've put my email up. Give us a shout sometime. Just for starters, when i left school i worked at John England and was apprentice to a Mr Dave Sherburn who i believe married Eileen (did they go to New Zealand) and i was playing football with Harold the day he got his jaw broken. Do you remember the Deans who lived on Earl St but shared the same back yard (and outside loos) Marie, Josie and James.

Comment by: Stephen on 31st August 2008 at 14:47

Hi Eileen.Ok 2 glaring mistakes. Didn't read the previous response properly and thought it was from Jean. Also, my email doesn't show up i the message. My mum dropped me on mi head when i was a babby and i've been thick (ask Dave) ever since. Anyway it's great to hear from you after so long. Not seen Harold for about 25yrs. I've just found a couple of old photo's. One is family photo taken outside our house and the other one is taken in the back yard of mi Grans No14 and you can see our outside loos in the background. I'll put them in the Album so you should see them in the 'recent uploaded' page soon. Hope you are all well. My email is stephenprice916@btinternet.com

Hiya Steve, I do rememember you and your Janet, Audrey Robinson, the Deans, nearly everybody on that street. I did go to Australia and met up with David Sherburne but we did not get married. Our Harry lives in Haydock, Jean in Leigh and Audrey in St Helens. I have settled in Wigan it has been a long time, but before that I travelled all over Australia, Asia and Europe. Still got itchy feet yet. Love to know how Janet is keeping xx

Comment by: Stephen on 1st September 2008 at 18:48

Eileen, Janet went to Liecester Uni where she met her husband Gwynn. Still married with 2 grown up kids Paul and Karen. Currently living in Market Harbrough but where in Bolton until recently. She'll be made up you've been in touch. I'll try and get her on here. Tell Harry to get in touch, last time i saw him was at Wigan Casino and his hair was about a foot long. Keep in touch, hope all is well with you and yours, Stephen

Hi Stephen/Pam nice to hear from you after all this time. I have just come back from holiday and i will get in touch with our Harry who is also on holiday at the moment. I'm sure he will have a lot to say!!. I remember very well when he broke his jaw my dad went wild!!! Speak to you soon Jean

Comment by: Stephen on 4th October 2008 at 12:27

Pam, just been looking at 'Street Scenes'. Did you post the Belle Green Lane photo's. And if so, does that mean you married Pey Kerr?

Comment by: pam on 7th October 2008 at 22:05

yes steven. do you know him.

Comment by: Stephen on 8th October 2008 at 10:42

Yes, we werent really mates but i played football with him many a time in Ince park. I think all the lads in Ince used to play footie in the park in the holidays. I think he used to knock around with Ronnie Aldred. I recognised him on some of the rugby photo's as well.
