I am sure some can name the occasion and give a more accurate date.
I can see Headmistress Sister Christine, Dept.Head Tony Rynn and Dr.Campbell from St.Johns RC church.
I can only recognise 2 pupils Gary Lamb and one of the Eccles brothers maybe Stephen.

Is that Phil Collier middle left behind Sr Christine?

I recognise quite a few faces from my class of 1968-74. Gary Lamb, Caroline Taylor, Anne Marie Sherry (glasses), Richard Lea, Kate McPartlin in the middle wearing a hairband, Jimmy Higgins, Mark Hughes (blond, Janet Rimmer, Cecelia Lowe (glasses at the back), and David and Stephen Eccles as the front. It could have been Sister Christine's leaving.

Front row left hand side me (Daniel Calderbank), Anthony Mitchell, Tony Heighton, Mark Tyldsley, Philip Collier, to left of him was the American girl Kathy?, behind Philip Collier Adrienne Atherton, girl smiling at back Jacky? Right hand side front row is David Eccles and Leslie McCann, behind is Richard Lea and Jimmy Higgins, with his brother Johhny behind him.

I remember sister Christine very well and Dr Campbell, he was a bit stern!
Sister Christine became Head Mistress at St John's when Mr Baron retire and she loved Chrysanthemums. He was a kind gentleman, rather large and had a walking stick, he lived quite close to the Mesnes Park Gates, I once went to his house at Bob a Job week and he was very generous.

Sister Christine, Mr. Rynn and dr. Campbell were great teachers. I see Phil Collier, Daniel calderbanks, Adrienne Atherton, Lesley McCann, David Eccles and myself. I’m Kathy Beirne. I moved to Wigan from California in 1970. Im back in California now. Some great memories of Wigan and some traumatic ones. Nice to see this picture.
