Wigan Album

just showed this photo to my mam May Glover nee Blan she was in the year belowe this class and says the lad on the middle row at the end on left is the late Harry Pemberton the wigan comedian the teachers are on left Mr Miller on right Mr Dean

I'm afraid May has got it wrong on this one. The lad on the end of the row is Horice Mawdsley(sp). Not Harry, he was in the next year. The teachers are Mr Taylor (english) on the left and Mr Smallshaw (woodwork) on the right. On the other photo she has got them right.

You are right, of course, Alan. Norman is on the end of the middle row on the 1949 one. I think I got most of the others right.It was a long time ago.ha ha.
