St Joseph's my first school. Mr Kane the Headmaster once beat me up. Anyone remember Miss Reddington, Ms Hart and Ms Leadbetter. Or even Ray Unsworth the rugby teacher. I'm sure he'll remember me.

Hello C.Rad,I remember Miss Reddington, she was as I recall a lovely person with little ones.We had a reunion some years ago and she was there, and, believe it or not she still remembered all our names. We also went to her funeral some years later,a very nice lady.

I remember Miss Dunne, Mr Cane, Mr Sweeney and Miss Reddington.Attended St Joseph's from 1951 before going to St Thomas More. I remember Helen Westhead a tall girl whose dad had a shop in Chapel Lane. Somewhere, I have a photo of our class first communion and will try and find it.

I left St Josephs in 1959 and went on to St Thomas Moore. I remember Miss Duffy, Mr Cain, Joe Moore, Miss Topping and Sister Mary. Has anyone got any photos they can upload?

I have seen Miss Topping round Wigan a few times. I am seventy so she must be in her nineties. I have spoken to her. She said she remembered me but I don't know if she did.

Comment by: C RAD on 15th September 2012 at 01:38

Hi Ann21, You saw Ms Topping?? I remember her so well.
Shame on that women what she did to me. Humiliated me beyond belief in front of the whole class. Left a scar on me for life. Will never forget her..
