Park Lane Unitarian School, Ashton

It was a big school for such a tiny chapel - but the church seems to have risen to the challenge of providing education for the growing population in the northern reaches of Ashton.
This looks really interesting, thank you Rev Long, but unfortunately I cannot read it, and if you increase the resolution it's too blurred.
Gill, the memorial is on the Imperial War Museum's site - where I've written out all the names:

Hi, thanks very much for that, but I'm also interested in the text in the centre, starting with 'Her Majesty the Queen...' Looks like it mentions His Majesty the King of Prussia among others but I cannot really make it out.
If you look at the image on the IWM website you should be able to make out that section.
St Paul's Goose Green has a similar Roll of Honour on display in the church, and there are others on the IWM Register.
The pro forma base was sold by The Fine Arts Co of London, in aid of the Prince of Wales' National Relief Fund. It is likely that all the schools in the area were offered them, and that others bought them and filled them in - but, sadly, they've been lost over the years. It's surprising how many such memorials were taken down and put into storage, or disposed of during clear-outs.
The most notable locally was the one in St Oswald's, Ashton - lost when the original church was demolished in the 1920s.
Thanks very much I'll have a look. Also thank you for the additional information, and you're right that it's sad that a lot of material has likely gone forever, not sufficiently valued at the time perhaps.
