Apart from 2 all the boys went to Wigan Grammar School and I believe most of the Girls went to the High School. Sadly there are a number on the photo who are no longer with us.
if it,s the same ronnie lynn he was the cheif engineer at golborne colliery . therse a pic of him in the work section under golborne at the last section of the pics in the middle holding the dartboard.
John - I used to know several of the lads.Sorry to hear that some have passed on. Could you possibly let us know who these are?
It is the same Ronnie Lynn. After Golborne Colliery was closed down he moved to the Midlands where he still lives.
Ones I know for definite who have passed on are John Somers and David Silcock. I also believe that Carl Knight is no longer with us. Maybe others have further updated information.
yes he did john . i,m on that pic with him when we won the n/west pit team knockout . i hav,nt seen him since the pit shut down.
I recognise a couple of names from this photo, Phil Maiden and Ronnie Lynn. I was in a group in the 1960's with two fellas of the same name! I'd love to know if these are the same people. I don't live in Wigan any more and don't have any means of tracing them. If anyone can confirm whether they are former members of The Senators or can put me in touch wth them I'd be very grateful
Yes they are the ones out of the Senators. I see Phil Maiden occasionaly in Wigan and keep in contact with Ronnie Lynn on Facebook.
Thanks John. If you see Phil in Wigan say hello to him from me. I'll try and find Ronnie in Facebook
Good photo John. Sent you and Ronnie Lynn a Facebook Message recently but no replies-Mind you I am no expert!
Good to know some of us are still alive and kicking!
That was my class at Beech Hill but I must have been off sick that day
I think I'm on that photo, third row next to teacher. I'm not sure though.
Pat Holden, I lived on Well field Road.
If its the same Phil Maiden did he play drums?
If it is last time I saw him a few years he was living somewhere near the Brocket, Holme Terrace area.
