Harry Catt looks like he's already started weight lifting here. And there's Bill Ashurst (the Clark Gable of Highfield). Dave Whelan appears here dessed a bit like Jed Clampit.

Alan W....I am in the above photo and there was no Wilfred W in my class or my year and I was born in '37....BUT there was a FRED W in the year below me. If I remember right he lived in Ormskirk Rd, Nr Union Bridge. ( I lived in the chip shop higher up the road ) and later he worked as an apprentice at H J Heinz. If you think this might be the same Wilfred you are looking for let me know and I will ask around the area for you...I still live in Newtown..

Great photo, not seen this one before. My dad is on the top row. John Roberts, sadly passed away in 91, way too soon. Thanks for sharing this one.
